In the 1980s there were gasoline shortages and lines for gas. Bill Reynolds’ father had a 1967 Chevrolet Caprice with a 396 V-8, 4 barrel that got only 8-11 mpg. So he could get back and forth to work on minimal gasoline, he bought this Monza on January 25th, 1980. He later bought a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim and the gasoline shortages no longer existed.  The Monza then sat in the garage from 1994 to 2011 (17 years).

From August-September 2011, the 1980 Monza was transported by Bill Reynolds from Albuquerque, NM to its new home with the LeMay Family Collection in Tacoma, WA.
