The Hudson Commodore Eight was the top-of-the-line series in Hudson’s post-war lineup.  The body shell, as well as most other design features, was shared with the other models.  These were basic holdovers of the pre-war offerings of 1941 and 1942.  The Commodore Eight was available as a four-door sedan, club coupe, and the Brougham convertible coupe of which fewer than 500 units were built in 1946 and 1947 combined.  The 254 cid single-valve inline eight, producing over 128 horsepower, gave the Commodore Eight strong performance.  The Commodore Eight also got nicer trim and more luxurious fittings than the Super Six.  There were 12,593 Hudson Commodore Eight’s produced in 1947 and they sold for between $1,760 and $2,196.
