This was the second year the new flat-head V-8 was available from Ford. Initial problems of engine block cracking, piston failure and overheating were solved by the 1933 model year. All the V-8 cars were designated “model 40”: they came with 17 inch wire spoke wheels and regardless of body color were delivered with black fenders.
