The Cleveland, Ohio based Chandler Motor Company produced automobiles from 1913until 1929. The company built high-quality, medium-priced cars. In 1920 Chandler had a line of six car models ranging in price from $2095 to $3595. Total production in 1920 was 4773. The peak year for Chandler sales was 1927 when they sold nearly 20,000 automobiles. Chandler over-extended the next year which left them over a half million dollars in debt. In 1929t hey were purchased by its major competitor Hupp Motor Works and the Chandler name was discontinued. Chandlers were built with a metal skin around a wooden frame and because of this fewer Chandlers survive today than other makes.
